Dancing Turtle 2024: Theater Programs
Theater Competition: The Dance Turtle Theater Competition is an artistic playful take on a short play festival. The Dancing Turtle team will give each team 3 days to write a short play with a specific theme that must be included. The theater team will have a budget of $25 dollars to produce their short play. A panel of four judges will choose the winning team by how well they performed, the use of their theme, and the overall atmosphere of the audience. The Audience will get to choose their favorite show as well. This can be introduced as a fundraiser to help the community (given to United Way for their partner agencies)
WHAT: 3-10 teams> receive theme, write, direct, present 5-8 minute short play
WHEN: receive theme WEDNESDAY> practice Friday> perform SATURDAY & Winner SUNDAY
WHERE: AFter online register, Outside Community Center pick up theme. Sheerar Practice & Perform until Best of FEST perform there for winner group
WHY: 1st place> $500 2nd place>$250 3rd place> $100
Each validated group gets $25 budget for costume/props
RULES: Register online with acting troupe by May 1st.
Team captain: pick up theme show Friday, and then Saturday for dress rehearsal& Performance
Winner announced Sunday and then perform at Best of the Fest.

Theater Actors ASSIST with Film Festival Screenplay Reading
WHAT: Reading special chosen scripts and acting them out to showcase the SCRIPT itself.
